I am very interested in your name! My paternal great-grandfather was a John B. Mccamey. I know nothing about his origins. My grandfather ( John's son) was Arris French Mccamey, born in southern Mississippi, USA about 1880. The family background was definitely Scottish. Your name is so similar to mine. I hope you don't mind my response as I have no real help for you. Is it possible the surname of the Mccamey you are searching for was not England, but a reference to place of origin?
Good Luck!
