I am interested in William T. McCallister, who married Evaline McCoy on 1 December 1842 in Mason Co. Virginia. Many on-line genealogies list his parents as William McCallister Sr. and Jane Eger, but no one seems to have any documentation for this relationship.
William Sr. had a cousin James McCallister in Mason Co. who had a son born about the same time as William T. McCallister. In 1850, William T. McCallister was living between James McCallister's married daughter Virginia Frances Erwin and James' widow, Jane McCallister. William T. McCallister also named his first son James.
It also is possible that Evaline McCoy's mother was Virginia Jane McCallister. She may have been the daughter of William McCallister Sr.
So does anyone have documentation?
