Hello Janine,I am Shawn W. McCalla.I am not the "professional" genealogist of our family. However; I do posessa print out of the 'generations'chart. What I do know is that our first ancestors Immigrated fromNorthern Irelandto Wales,Englandthen thru Philadelphia PA.We Immigrated in the 1880's.I have many cousins that live in Highland County Ohio, which is near Adams Co.Thanks to Yahoo, I found this site, thru the Magazine. My grandfather died in 1986.Upon his death the family solda herd of Heifer- Dairy Cattle, which he used to milk.Apparently all three, My dad, My grandfather and Great Grandfather will be 'Laid to rest ' in Highland County, Ohio. My dad is still living.Ibelieve at one time, our family name was McCall, rather than McCalla. However, that has been before my own life. I have no way of finding out when that change might have occurred.I can't offer any insight into William L. McCalla.Or whySamuel McCalla chose to emigrate toFruitdale, Ohio, originally. However;I know roughly where we lived in Highland Co. and I have some perspectives on how our own documented, McCalla family has evolved. I dislike to say or observe that I think some of the indirect relatives of Samuel McCallaare conceited in their views. I mean it seemsto me as if a branch of Samuel McCalla's family is conceited toward the otherhalf.Anyway, I really can't offer anything more concrete, Regarding William L. McCalla.I am happy to find this site Thank you. Shawn McCalla
