Barbara, Synthia Burgess (born 1824) was my Great-Great Grand Aunt, that is my family tie with the MaCaleb family.(Daughter of George Washington Burgess & Charlotta McBride) married (David) Robinson McCaleb (born 1820) and had several sons; John William McCaleb (born 1848) (He had 12 children most of them remained in Texas, some moved to Oklahoma early 1900s), (Thomas) Ira Allison McCaleb (born 1856) (He lived in Washington Co. Arkansas and had 11 children), Samuel Crawford (born 1858) died in AR. unmarried., William Robertson McCaleb (born 1861) had 7 children and his family stayed pretty much in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
(William) David Crockett (Born 1863) He had 7 sons and daughters.
So if in fact Barbara, if Synthia & David are your GG-Grandparents, that would make you and I, 4th cousins! I have never been to Arkansas. However, next month I will be vacationing in Tennessee next month for a couple weeks (attending a Burgess family reunion)This will be our first trip there back there.
