I believe John Nelson McCaleb and Thomas Franklin McCaleb were half brothers. Their father was Franklin Polk McCaleb, b. 22 Jun 1844 Hickman Co., Tennessee, d. November 1903 Hickman Co., Tennessee.

F.P. McCaleb's first wife was Mary Ann BINGHAM Birth Date abt 1848 d. bef. 1879. Marriage 6 Oct 1865 Hickman County, Tennessee. F.P.'s second wife was Francis M. "Dora" Anderson. Marriage Sep 30, 1879 Hickman Co., TN.

John Nelson was b. January 10, 1874, Hickman Co., Tennessee; d. May 02, 1927, Texas; m. HETTIE BELL CHURCH, 1902, Oklahoma; b. June 08, 1883; d. Texas.

Thomas Franklin was b. October 08, 1890, Hickman Co., Tennessee; d. Sardis, Texas; m. ELOISE HESTER; d. Sardis, Texas.

Both were on the 1900 census with their father:
Census Tennessee, 1900, 15 District, Hickman County, Tennessee,Series: T623 Microfilm:1579 Book:1 Page: 37
Franklin P. McCaleb b. June 1844 age 55 m.34 yrs [sic] TN NC NC farmer R/W Owner
Francis M. b. Mar 1852 age 48 7 children 7 living R/W
John b. Jan 1874 age 26 R/W farm labor
Ludie E. b. Sept 1876 age 25 R/W
Mary A. b. Sept 1885 age 16 R/W
Thomas K.[sic] Oct 1890 age 9 R/W at school
Alvin Seals b. Feb 1880 age 20 border R/W day labor
