I would like information about the family of John McCaleb Jr. born 1789 NC and died 1858, Hickman Co., Tennessee. In 1809 TN, he married Sarah Huchingson, who was b. abt 1792 Georgia and died about 1838 Hickman Co. She was the daughter of Joseph Huchingson and Mary Story. Joseph and Mary were in Georgia until abt. 1806, in Tenessee until about 1809, in Alabama until abt. 1835, and in Saline Co., Arkansas, until their deaths.
Based on census information, John and Sarah may have had as many as 15 children. I have the following names:
1. Eritha McCaleb b. 30 Jan 1819, Hickman Co., Tennesse, married Vaughn Burr Lafferty Jul. 4, 1842, Saline Co., Arkansas, died 18 Aug 1872 Holly Springs, Dallas Co., Arkansas.
2. Sarah "Sally" McCaleb, b. abt 1825, Hickman Co., married James E. Adcock abt. 1844 Hickman Co., died 1885 Thackerville, Indian Territory.
3. Hassell/Hansel McCaleb b. abt 1829, Hickman Co., d. aft. 1850.
4. Thomas P. McCaleb b. 21 Oct 1831 Hickman Co., d. aft. Apr 1908 Hickman Co.
5. Henry D. McCaleb b. abt. 1837 Hickman Co., d. aft. 1850.
John McCaleb, Jr., married second to Rachel Stilts abt. 1839 in Hickman Co. Their children were:
1. Newton P. McCaleb b. abt. 1842/1843 Hickman Co.
2. Franklin Polk McCaleb b. 22 Jun 1844 Hickman Co., d. Nov 1903 Hickman Co.
3. George McCaleb b. abt. 1847 Hickman Co.
