Janice,
Well, I like so many other geneolist and book referances, stop the count of addtional 0 after the number count stops for each section, with a " - " in between males and females, because we all know that 1790 has 3-2= 5 slots; 1800/1810 has 5-5= 10 slots; 1820 has 6-5= 11 slots; 1830/1840 has 13-13= 26 slots, for white persons. I just assumed you had been doing this a while, and already incounter this practice, please for give me if I have confused you.I added the O for you on this reading.Do you belong to Ancestry.com, they have the actual census records, to view on line.I do a lot of research so it was worth joining them for this particular item the "census records portion".
