There were several related McCains in the units formed near Marsh Creek, PA Colony, circa 1755. Two were brothers, Hugh McKean and Alexander McKean, both men married to Hamilton women (sisters, the daughters of Hance Hamilton Jr). These McKeans related to Hugh McKean of the Waxhaws. We know this because the descendants took DNA tests, so it is a proven link. There are contemporary to mid 1750s accounts of the events and men now on the internet.
