Hi,
I am looking for my grandmother's family, the McCaffreys.
Her father was Alfred Joseph McCaffrey born 4/25/1908 in Albertville, Alabama and died in October of 1984 in Helena, Alabama. His father was William Henry McCaffrey who was born November 24, 1870? Where, I do not know.
We know William married Mary Jane Minshew from the Coalmont, Alabama area and they had at least 2 more children besides Alfred, William Jr. and a viola? who was living in Tennessee. My cousin said that Viola was born the same yr. as my grandmother, 1934. We think either William or his father came on the boat from Ireland.
If anyone has any infomation, please contact me. Also, William either came from New York and worked with the RR going south to PA and on to AL or he came from PA down to AL.
