I thought that I might jump in here. My great-grandfather came from Salesville, Ohio in Guernsey Co. He married Nancy Clawson in Sullivan Co., MO in 1884 or 85.

My understanding is that this McBurney family immigrated from Galloway Scotland to Northern Ireland and then to America. These McBurneys were Presbyterian. I don't know how this fits in with anything you have or not. Other than this I am at a comlete deadean!!
