This is definitely the McBurneys that are in my line (at least the 1850 census). I'm still unclear who Wm L's mother was...if it was Mary Laughlin, then who was her husband? If it was Catherine Dawson, then maybe the date listed that she married James McBurney (1811) could have really been 1801, which might make more sense. It certainly seems as though either is probably a strong possibility. Thoughts? You also mentioned you are looking for info on Margaret, who married Geo Cannon in Indiana. I have run across info at the State Historical Society on the Cannons that Margaret married into (one was the secretary of state for Wisconsin, I believe). If you could let me know more specifically what you are looking for, I could look it up for you.
