Old clipping from our local newspaper indicated that a James H. McBurney and family left for Kansas on Jan. 17, 1885 from Carrollton, Ky. I'm trying to track this family down if anyone has any information. James was the son of William and Catherine McBurney and he was born in 1843 in Carroll Co. Ky. Married Eliza Ann Supplee in Carroll Co. Ky in 1866. They had 5 children - William D., Charles H, Cora, May and Dory.
Jame's father was William and he came from Pa as far as I can tell but haven't been able to find out where from. William and Catherine were married in Boone Co. Ky in 1834.
