I just received the will of one William LAUGHLIN of Straban Township, Washington County, PA that mentions his oldest daughter, Marry (sic) McBURNEY.Also in the will are Marry's brothers Alexander, William, John, Samuel (deceased), and James, and sisters Elizabeth HAMBLETON and Ann McCAULLEY.Perhaps your William was a son of Mrs. McBurney and was named for his grandfather William Laughlin. The will was written 12 July 1821; Letters of Administration were given on 7 November 1821; and Letters Testamentary on 27 November 1821.That means he died, most likely, at the end of October or the first part of November 1821.
Unfortunately, although the will refers to William's wife in several places, and provides for her care after his death, her name is not mentioned.
