J. A. and Mary A. McBryde, Moore Co. NC late 1800s

I am trying to find the correct parents for the J. A. McBryde in the 1880 Moore Co. NC census, age 48 (approx b. 1832), wife Mary A., age 46 (approx b. 1834). He was a house carpenter living in the Greenwood District. Children listed are Napoleon, age 23 (approx b. 1857), William J, age 20 (approx b. 1860), James A. age 17 (approx b. 1863), T. Walter age 15 (approx b. 1865), dau Nash (?) A. age 10 (approx b. 1870), Nora L. age 7 (approx b. 1873) and Oscar age 4 (approx b. 1876).

I don't seem to find a family with a son whose name has those initials in Moore Co. in 1850 census--Alexander McBryde has a son James, but he is listed as 7, a good ten years too young to be my J. A. and the John M. McBryde living next door to James and Mary in 1850 is 28, so about ten years too old.

Karen Dutton (descended from the William J. McBryde b. abt 1860)
