James William Goss b: abt 1828 in AL - Son of Matthew Goss & Margaret White

Matthew Goss and Margaret White were married in Bibb Co., AL, in 1826. Shortly thereafter they moved to Holmes Co., MS--not later than 1838. Their first son was John Goss b: abt 1827, apparently born in Alabama. Their second son was named James William Goss b: abt 1828, probably in Alabama, also. After the family moved to Mississippi, James William Goss married Amanda McBroom abt 1856 in Mississippi and they moved west to Texas. The family finally settled in Emmaus, Cherokee Co., TX. When did the family first arrive in Cherokee Co., TX? The family line stretches from South Carolina to Alabama to Mississippi to Texas. This is the great American epic. Can anyone provide any additional information for these families?
