Orange Co, NC Will Bk 1, 1753-1819: 1 Dec 1783 Andrew McBroom of Orange Co, NC willed to wife Mary "her living on that part of the land where on my son Andrew McBroom now lives and he is to find her all necessaries, she is to have one bed and furniture two pots and one cow and one equal share with my three daughters of all the moveables & also John M Calib is to live with her-----The land is to be equaly divided between my two sons Andrew and William, and I will to my son Andrew that part of the land where he lives and I will to my son William his part on that side where he lives and also that there be an equal devision of all the moveables betweext my beloved wife Mary and daughters Jane, Rebecca and Mary -- I appoint my trusty friends Andrew MBroom and John Armstrong to be my executors. signed Andrew MBroom, test John Armstrong, jurat and John Allison. Proven by Armstrong Feb Court 1784.

Washington Co, VA Will Bk 3, p. 132: 9 Oct 1809 Mary McBroom, widow & relict of Andrew McBroom dec of Washington Co, VA makes will to say she leaves the "remainder of her estate (which estate was divised to me by the .. will....of my ...mentioned husband Andrew McBroom and being detained ? by son Andrew McBroom for thirteen years for thirteen years past) to William Gilson & his wife Polly ...." . One shilling to each of other children. John Rhea of Orange Co, NC and William Gilson exec. Signed Mary McBroom, wit Elijah Gillenwaters, Henry Gabhert, John McCormack. Proven 20 Feb 1810.
