McBride, born in Ireland, occupation draper.
This extract from a genealogy website interests me:
"Probate of the Will of John M'Bride late of Cushendall, County Antrim, (Occupation) Draper, who died 3 August 1895 granted at Belfast to Margaret M'Bride of Cushendall Spinster."
Margaret might have been John's daughter or possibly his sister and she seems to have continued the drapery business in Cushendall. A 1910 directory contains an entry in the Cushendall section as follows:
"McBride, Margaret, draper and grocer"
My great grandafther James McBride was born in Ireland circa 1845. He was the son of a draper, i.e. my GGGF, who was also named James McBride. I wonder if my GGGF, James the Draper, was the brother or possibly father of John McBride of Cushendall. Can anyone help?
