I have McBrides in two separate branches of my family.
James McBride was born in Ireland, probably around 1770. His daughter Elizabeth, b:1794 in Pennsylvania was married to John Forest Newkirk b:1794 of Mercer County.
Sarah (McBride) Mayrs b:1761 in Ireland emigrated in 1780 with her husband, Benjamin Mayrs (the descendants now spell it Mayers) to Hubbard Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.
I'd like to find out more about these McBrides. They may be of the same extended family, as they lived in the same area. (Mercer County, Western PA/Trumbull County, eastern Oh). I'd love to hear from anyone researching McBrides in this area.
