Russell McBride b. 1795 NC moved to Mississippi
Greetings;
I need help finding any information regarding a GGGrandfather of mine. I have been trying to follow my genealogy and have not been able to get past the information that follows;
RUSSELL1 MCBRIDE was born Abt. 1795 in Western, NC, and died in Webster County, Mississippi.
POSSIBLE GIVEN NAME; "JOSEPH RUSSELL MCBRIDE"???
Notes for RUSSELL MCBRIDE:
Russell McBride fought in the war of 1812 with General Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans.In 1815 the army went down the Natchez trace on the way to New Orleans.Russell liked what he saw and came back with his family after the war to homestead on Big Black Creek and Natchez trace in Webster County, MS.The homestead sold in the 1930's during the great depression.The timber on the homestead was sold by the new owners for more money than the family received for the land.
Children of RUSSELL MCBRIDE are:
i WALLACE MCBRIDE
ii TOBY MCBRIDE, b.Abt1840; d. Abt1890, Webster County, MS
These children are most likely his children from a late marriage, given Russell's age. Toby named his first born son Joseph. This leads me to believe Joseph could be Russell's actual first name?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
John McBride
