Hello Carol,
I see the children you have listed for Francis and Finwell McBride. How solid are those birthdates you have for them.
I am particularly interested in John McBride. You have him born in 1763.I am researching a John McBride born March 22, 1755 in PA. He was in Guilford Co. NC by they time of the Rev. War and served variously during the war (e.g., Indian spy, Ensign for the Guilford Militia, numerous expeditions, carried communications for Capt. John McAdow).
On 21 Nov 1832, he testified that he served with Isaiah McBride during the winter of 1781 under Gen. Greene.
This connection has caused me to wonder if John and Isaiah were perhaps brothers.
Also, they both had children named William, Mary and Margaret (Francis also had a daughter named Margaret). Isaiah also had a daughter named Nelly -- John had one named Eleanor ("Ellen").
How were you able to discern all the children of Francis McBride? I've only been able to gather four of them, and I'm not sure how those were identified as children.
Do you think that your John and my John might be the same?
Peace,
Jeff Doles
