William McBrier was born in 1698 at Dumfries, Scotland, and married Rebecca Brown who was born in 1704 at Dumfries, Scotland.
William died in Oct 1795 at Franklin County, Pennsylvania.Rebecca died on 12 Aug 1805 at Hamilton Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. William moved to Ireland in 1727 and was supposed to be the oldest of three brothers who arrived in America about 1735.
Rebecca is thought to have been the aunt of Agnes Brown, mother of Robert Burns, the famous Scottish poet and author.

i James McBrayer was born about 1732 at
Northern Ireland, and married Jane Montgomery.James died on 9 Jan
1801 at Mercer County, Kentucky.Jane died in 1796 at Kentucky.
ii William McBrayer was born about 1734 at
Northern Ireland, and married Martha (?).William died about 1812 at York County, South Carolina.Martha died in 1800/1810.
iii Samuel McBrayer was born in 1736.
iv David McBrayer was born about 1745 at
Hamilton Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and about 1771, married Agnes Dickson, daughter of Andrew Dickson and Agnes (?), whowas born 25 Feb 1750 at Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.David died on 19 Oct 1816 at Pennsylvania.Agnes died on 22 Jan 1793. David served in the Revolutionary War.His descendants changed the spelling of the surname from McBrayer to Brier. He also married in 1794, Nancy Agnes (?).Nancy Agnes died in 1832.
v Sarah McBrayer was born about 1746 at Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and married Andrew Taylor.
Samuel McBrayer, son of William McBrier and Rebecca Brown, wasborn in 1736 at Antrim Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and
in 1763 at Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, married Elizabeth (?) who was born about 1740.Samuel died on 2 May 1814 at Buncombe
County, North Carolina.Elizabeth died about 1787. Samuel may have been born in Northern Ireland, or possibly at sea while his family was enroute to America.He moved his family to North Carolina in 1765.

ii Mary McBrayer was born about 1768 at Tryon County, North Carolina, and on 20 Jan 1785 at Rutherford County, North Carolina, married Amos Justice, son of Thomas Justice and Mary Dyer, who was born in 1766 at Halifax County, Virginia.Mary died in 1811 at Buncombe County, North Carolina. Amos died in Apr 1829 at Lawrence County, Arkansas. Amos served in the Revolutionary War.
