Samuel McBeth of Westmoreland County, Pa

I'm doing a family history project for a class, and I'm hoping to find some more information about my family.

Apparently the farthest back we trace it is Samuel F. McBeth, a farmer 1870-1954. He lived in the Mt. Pleasant, Tarrs, Ruffsdale area of Westmoreland County. I've seen at several other posters with ties to the family, so if anybody has any more information about the family (specifically when they came to the area, did they settle anywhere else when they first came to America before moving here, where exactly they came from in Ireland (or perhaps Scotland)) it would be greatly appreciated.
