GEORGE W. CRAFT, son of ANDERSON and CATHERINE CRAFT, was born in Indiana, Feb. l, l843. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of l0 years and settled south of Van Wert in Decatur County. He lived in that neighborhood until about twenty-one years ago when they moved to Van Wert, where he lived until he passed away May ll, l923, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and l0 days.

He was united in marriage to HANNA BURNETT, March l4, l869. To this union were born seven children, two dying in infancy and one daughter, MRS. KATE NOFTSGER, who died in l909. Those living are: CHARLES, of Milo, Iowa; NETTIE MCBEE, of Van Wert, Iowa; LAURA KEERAN, of Leon, Iowa; EFFIE TRISLER, of Truro, Iowa. These were all present at the time of his death. Besides these children he leaves to mourn their loss, his aged widow, fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, with other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the home in Van Wert, Sunday morning, May l3, conducted by B.F. Galloway, Pastor of the Christian Church. Interment in Van Wert Cemetery.
