I am a desendant of Vardry McBee and Hannah Echols. My Great Grandfather born in 1898did extensive research on the McBee family back to Vardry' parents who were William McBee and Susannah Vardry. He did most of his research I believe in the late 1940's.According to his research Vardry McBee, b.abt 1735 married Hannah Echols in VA, moved to NC.He was Constable in Tryon (now Mecklenburg) County NC in 1770. Settled in what is now Spartenburg district SC but was then considered NC. I have more info about his Revolutionary War record. He and his family eventually moved to Sumner County, TN.He died 1787, probably in Sumner County. His wife Hannah McBee moved to KY with her son Silas. There is a land grant to her of 200 acres in Christian County, KY dated 10/08/1799.Their children were Silas McBee b. Nov 24, 1765,a daughter who married Joseph Morris, lived Lincoln County NC,adaughter married Mr. Clarke, brother of Gen. Elijah Clarke, Vardry Echols McBee b. June 18th 1775 Spartanburg District, SC.This list may not be complete per GGRandfathers notes.I hope this is helpful.
