Leona Potter McAuley Weller, 93, of Stamping Ground, died Thursday,
March 21, 2002, at her home. She was the widow of James Buford McAuley
and Curtis Burnam Weller.
A native of Kona, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and
Didema Hall Potter.
Survivors include a son, James Potter (Lois) McAuley, of Kona; a
daughter, Constance McAuley Gray, of Stamping Ground; four
grandchildren, James P. (Karen) McAuley, of Kona, Lee Butler Gray
(David) Gillis, of Stamping Ground, Nan Parker Gray (Edd Harrell), of
Knoxville, Tenn., and Bonnie Butler McAuley (John) Wickizer, of
Lawrenceburg; seven great-grandchildren, James Robert (Carla) McAuley,
Jodi McAuley (Rod) Back, Constance Elizabeth, Noah David and Jacob
Benjamin Gillis, Katelyn Rebecca and John Travis Wickizer; and a
great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Nicole Back.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, in the
Potter Cemetery in Letcher County.
Casket bearers will be Bill and Tommy Lewis, James Robert and Jim Mac
McAuley, Fred Young and John Wickizer.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2-4 p.m., at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
