Hi Edie,

I'm not sure I will be much help to you, but maybe you could help me out if you have found some info on McArthurs in Greenock. I descend from Dougald (sometimes spelled Douzal or Dougal) MacArthur and Mary McBride. They were married on November 24, 1823 in Greenock, Scotland. They had six children: Daniel, John, Duncan, Nancy, Kate, Belle and Mary. I believe they immigrated to Canada in 1848 or 1849. They changed the spelling of their last name to McArthur around this time. They moved to Haven, Kansas around the year 1865. These may have been cousins to your McArthur family in Greenock. They were there at the right time. Have you run across anything about them?
