I am Seeking information on the McArn surname... I am trying to find anything linked to John E. McArn b. abt 1818 believed to be born in North Carolina. Married Martha A Debose. Their children were James Edward, Mollie Jane, John Edward, William Robert, Martha Ellen, Albert Francis. All of the children were born in Alabama. any information would greatly appreciated.

Also I would like to let all McArn researchers know that we have started a new McArn DNA Project at Family Tree DNA. This DNA Project is open to all males with the surnames: McCairn, McCarn, McArn & all other spelling Variations. regardless of ethnic origin... The project was created to help establish and validate family relationships. Your help is needed!

We are welcoming all McArn males with any of the various surname spellings, to please consider joining this project to help family members connect. Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested in joining!
*NOTE* we are also welcoming all Females to visit the website and browse around. If you have McArn information (regardless of the spelling variations) that you believe could link to John E. Please contact Christina (
