I have a Patrick McARDLE, my paternal GGF, born in Ireland, ??? associated with boats/shipping/fishing in some way, ???around Galway, ??? on a government ship. (That doesn't seem to jibe with your Patrick, does it?) His daughter, Margaret Josephine McARDLE was my paternal GM. She was born in Oct., 1864 in Ireland; emigrated to the USA in 1870; had the first bornchild/pregnancy that I know of born in July, 1892. She died 26 MAR 1939. Thus, I either assumed, or found evidence, that she married my paternal GF, George A.(?arthur) PRATT, in 1891. Sorry about that: I can't find that material presently. 8-( They lived in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Margaret Josephine McARDLE had 2 other sisters who emigrated to the USA: (1) Catherine "Kate" McARDLE, married an O'BRIEN and lived in St. Louis. (At some time, probably shortly after arriving in the USA, Margaret Josephine McARDLE spent some time with "Kate" in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Thus, I assume, Kate was older than Margaret Josephine McARDLE and perhaps even married when Margaret Josephine McARDLE emigrated.) (2) Mary McARDLE, married a Dan DAVIS, and lived in Memphis, TN. As Margaret Josephine McARDLE was 6 years old when she emigrated, I assume she was accompanied by someone. I wonder if it was one or more sisters, perhaps with one or more husbands. Well, that's it. Doesn't look too promising for us to be cousins. But "Hope springs eternal ..." Good luck in y'all's ** quest. Francis Eugene (Gene) PRATT ** Yes, I am a Texan!
