I don't know, but... in the event that your Patrick might have been my "Owen" - I have to wonder if sometimes names are passed down based upon favorite use, Patrick or Owen.
I've thought for a long time that Owen must have been a middle name. At any rate, he was married to a woman named Annie (Anne Coleman) and immigrated to the states 1849.
If you are curious to see if there might be a link, do a name search for "Owen" on this board and see what I've posted in the past. Also, I suspect that your ancestor's name might have been a first or middle name (or mine might have been).
