Have you looked in the McEndre Family Forum?
This name has been spelled: McAndre, McEndre as well as McAndrew. Several William's: for instance 1779 William McAndrew married Jannett Ingles (4-6-1779) Fauquier Co, VA Marriage Bonds. They came from VA, KY, over the river into southern IN and then southern IL. What would wife's maiden name be? Maybe there is a connection there. Also spelled as McKendree!
Good Luck and happy hunting
