Before my grandmother died she sent me a letter and I just found it. She listed her grandfather as Abraham McAmmond and her grandmother as Sarah. When they came to Canada the were allotted government property to homestead on and lived in government housing. She said they were Jewish.
Her mother was Esther McAmmond who died when she (my grandmother) was 14 years old. Nora and Ammie her sister lived in Toronto all their lives. Ammie talked more about their grandparents than Nora did and told me some things about the pass over and different rituals of the Jewish faith. At the time I ignored it. Nanny (Nora) offered me lots of information if I wanted it at that time before she died which was about 20 years ago. At that time I could care less. Sorry about that now.
