yes, you are in the group then.They came up when we did some DNA tests.Your Mac Ailpín family matches the Mid Argyll Kinship Group. I found a grant of land circa 1605 to a Mac Ailpín and that land connected to another family in that paternal kinship group.That is pretty good data.The land belonged to Ailean Mac Eáin Mhic Lochalainn, then to his son Donnchadh Mac Eáin.Your family is a DNA match to them plus there is a paper records showing the Mac Ailpín family connected to the land of Donnchadh Mac Eáin.I am sorting out what it all means. Very few of these families used 'clan' surname and surnames were not fixed in the area until the late 1500s early 1600s.BTW working from memory, but think the land was Garbhalt.It is on the OS maps.If you have done the DNA test, join the McCain family DNA Project, that is where I am organising the Mid Argyll Kinship Group.
