I have been working on my family tree. I have a 1881 Ontario census: the household is Currie, The mother and father were Donald Currie and Margret Smith. there were three Currie children, and three McAlpines. Elizabeth McAlpine born 1860, Ont. Sarah McAlpine born 1862 Ont. and Catherine McAlpine born 1864 Ont. the Curries seem to have subsequently moved to Manitoba, but not the McAlpines. does anyone know who they were, and why they were living with the Curries. The second Currie son was adopted and i am trying to find out his birth parents so I wonder if E McAlpine may have been the mother. If you know anything please let me know
