My family also descends from McAllisters of Grey County, Ontario.I know there is more than one family, though was unaware that there were any Catholics - thought most were Scots Presbyterians. The 1871 census has several McAllister families, and though at this point I am unsure exactly how all are connected, I suspect they are.My GrGrGrandmother was Isabella McAllister (b. 1835) who married Henry Zeggil in Singhampton, Ontario abt. 1858.She was the child of Sarah Buie (b. 1814 Jura, Scotland) and Donald McAllister (b. Islay, Scotland). Her siblings were Anne, Duncan, Robert, another Duncan (the first must have died), Donald Jr., Archibald and Hector. All but Hector were born on Jura.Hector, the youngest was born in Ontario.
