Hi Gerald. I'm in the process of helping Jonnie Rivas fill out her application papers for membership in DAR and she descends from Andrew McAlister of Abbeville SC who is the son of Alexander McAlister. Andrew, his brothers, and father, Alexander, were born in Ireland. They may have come over to SC about 1770-1785. One of Andrew's sons is William MCAlister who is the ancestor of Jonnie. His son, Benjamin F. McAlister served as a confederate soldier and later moved to Tippah Co. MS.
We think Andrew McAlister may have m. Elizabeth G. Lusk about 1803 in Abbeville SC. She is reported to be the daughter of Henry Lusk and Eleanor McKiddy. Henry Lusk is the Patriot who served in the Revolutionary War. We have documentation on all people except cannot prove if Andrew were married 1st to a different wife before Elizabeth, and it's possible he married a 3rd wife after the death of Elizabeth in 1818. If any of this fits your family tree, let me know and I'll share it with you, and if you have andy evidence on the wife or wives of Andrew Mcalister b. about 1760-1764 in IR. please share that with us,. Valerie
