My great grandmother was Annie May McAlister, b. 9/1/1898, d.5/21/1975, to my knowledge, her parents were George Washington McAlister, b. 2/9/1870, d. 3/14/1949, married to Maggie/Magnolia Hager/Hagler. I believe that George's parent's were William Smith McAlister, b. 9/29/1820, d. 4/14/1884, and Susan McAlister. From what I have found, McAlister was her maiden name. Parents of William were James McAlister, b.abt. 1770, d. abt.1830, and Tabitha Delilah Regan, b. abt. 1780, d. after 1860. Susan's parents were, William McAlister, b. abt. 1795, d. before 1870, and Mary Hoffman, b. abt. 1795, d. abt.1840 (daughter of Jacob Hoffman Jr. and Elizabeth Shetley). I found this information in my file, and I'm unsure where I got it from. I know that there are other people out there that have these people listed in their line (ancestry.com), but, I was unable to view the files.
