I'm looking for information on my husband's grgrgrandparents, Andrew J(ackson) CLARK and wife Margaret E(lizabeth) McALISTER/McALLISTER.
I find them in the 1880 TN census in BRADLEY Co. A.J. CLARK 33 TN TN TN and Margaret 35 TN VA VA with 3 children, John and Mary (twins) age 2 TN, and Cordelia age 1/12 TN(grgrandmother).
Next, in the 1900 TN census BRADLEY Co. Andrew J. 49 b. Mar. 1851 marr. 26 yrs. TN TN TN and Elizabeth 52 b. Sept. 1849 TN TN VA
same 3 children, with a 4th added: William J. b. Dec. 1882
Then in 1910 TN census, William 27 is m. 2 yrs to Della 19 with child Gladdis son 8/12(should be daughter). Nextdoor is Andrew J. 54 with Margaret E. 62 TN NC VA.
Della Varnell Clark is buried in Union Grove Cemetery off Tasso Rd.
I have found Andrew J. Clark's tombstone in the Tasso UMC Cemetery in Tasso, Bradley Co, TN, but no Margaret unless hers is unmarked. There are many McAlisters buried across the road in the Tasso Christian Church Cemetery. I don't know if they are related or not.
I need to find marriage date (approx. 1874), parents, siblings, of both Andrew and Margaret.
She is said by family members to be Cherokee Indian. I have a picture of her and she certainly looks Indian.
Any help here is appreciated!!
