Hi McAlisters!!!
I have been searching for a long time for the last name of my great grandmother, Emma Virginia. This last weekend I interviewed some of her grandchildren, they all believe they remember their father saying her maiden name was McAlister/McAllister/McCallister. No one was sure of the correct spelling. I do know Emma Virginia was born 1853 in Missouri. At sometime in her life she lived in Saline Co.,MO because that is where my ggrandfather and his family lived. According to her grandchildren, she was left with a family named Level when she was 7 years old, because her family could no longer take care of her. Then her family moved away, they think to a different part of Missouri. One of her grandsons thinks she had several brothers and a couple of older sisters, and she did keep in touch with them. Emma married Hector Hubert Harris in Missouri about 1875, they had a son named C.B.(Charles)Harris and a daughter Annie Virginia Harris. About 1890 they moved to the Tahlequah area of Indian Terr(now Okla.),
they had another son Benjamin H. Harris and my grandmother, Myrtle Lena Harris. If any of these names or this story sounds familiar please reply!!! We would love to solve this puzzle with this great grandmother! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!! Dee Dee Sisson-Bailey
