Here is some information I have on Edward D. Wren that might help.
1850 Census IL, Fayette Co., microfilm FHL 7679, page 356, line 22, enumerated 17 Nov 1850.
Edward D. Wren age 28, born IL, school teacher, value RE=$300.
Also listed all born IL: Matilda fem, age 27; William W. male, age 4; Martha A. fem, age 2; and Louiser I. fem, age 1.
(Note: Living adjacent to Washington J. Wren.)
1860 Census IL, Clinton Co., Carlyle P.O., microfilm FHL 803163, page 657, line 26, enumerated 15 Jun 1860.
E. D. Wren age 39, born IL, physician, value RE/PE=$500/200.
Also listed all born IL: Lucinda fem, age 29; Wm. male, age 15, farmer; Martha fem, age 13; Margaret fem, age 5; and B. J. male, age 2.
Edward D. Wren married Cynda (Lucinda?) Skelton 30 Mar 1855 in Clinton Co., IL (Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900).
A Lucinda Wren married William Thorn 11 Apr 1864 in Bond Co., IL(Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900).
From the sequence of marriages one might postulate that Matilda McAliley died before Mar 1855 and that Edward D. Wren died before Apr 1864, assuming that the Lucinda Wren was Lucinda "Cynda" Skelton. However, I do not have any actual death data to back this up.
