Mr. Harris mentioned the book "McAlexander: A Family History". There are (2) places that I definitely know it can be found. The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society in New York and the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D. C. each have a copy. It's a very good book. hope this helps.
