I believe the Amos you are looking for was the son of David McAlexander, Jr. & wife Mary Anna Salmons. I am not sure when he was born? It doesn't look like he was either. Here are all census records he appears in starting in 1880 where he is listed as being 1 year old. Note that 20 years later in the 1900 census he is listed to have being born March of 1871 and 29 years old. His wife’s name was also not clear in the census records.
