Dear McAfees' and Friends,
Do make plans today to attend the Blairsville Scottish Festival on June 8-10. I plan to arrive on Saturday so as to avoid the Friday afternoon and evening traffic issues; such just seems safer to me! For sure, I am sad that I shall miss the dinner and the Scottish formal dress on Friday night!
The Best Western in Blairsville is now filled per my conversation with them yesterday. So...if you do not have accommodations at this time, and cannot find other motels/hotels, you might consider staying a short distance from Blairsville and then, drive in on Saturday morning. Do not let a short drive deter you from gathering and meeting McAfees' of all lines! What a genealogical opportunity!
Remember that the Blairsville Scottish Festival is honoring the McAfee Family this year, so, let us support the cause with our full measure!
I am especially anxious to meet more individuals from the line of William McAfee, NC Hunter, and to learn new slivers of information which might help us to build a more complete picture of this elusive hunter!
I can only imagine how much McAfee genealogical information will be exchanged at this Scottish Gathering and I am looking forward to visiting with everyone from all of the McAfee lines...is this not exciting?
