Interesting to note is that our family of Elvira/ Elzira / Eliosa McAfee are also living in Cherokee Co. GA at same time as John M. McAfee and his relatives. Our McAfee family in Cherokee Co. GA consisted of Elvira McAfee b. abt. 1804 - 1805 NC and her children listed as : Berry McAfee b. abt. 1824 NC ( lived in Walker Co. GA in 1850 though ) Burton McAfee b. abt. 1830 NC - Spencer Alvin McAfee Sr. b. Jan. 15, 1832 NC or GA John A. McAfee b. bet. 1833 - 1836 GA Mahala McAfee b. abt. 1835 GA William McAfee b. abt. 1839 GA Dolphas or Colphus McAfee b. abt. 1842 GA. At same time that John M. McAfee had Cherokee Co. GA - Spenser McAfee in home of his brother BERRY McAFEE and wife NANCY C. OXFORD. Spenser then returned to Cherokee Co. GA to the home of his mother Elvira/ Elzira/ or Eloisa McAFee : 1850 Cherokee Co. GA - Spencer returned to Cherokee Co. GA and is on the later census there in home of his mother Eliosa / Elvira/ Elzira McAfee. 1860 Marion Co. AR - Spencer McAfee and 2nd wife Adeline ( Hannah Adeline Lance ) are on the 1860 Marion Co. AR census along with his mother who is now listed as Elvira Sutton. 1870 Howell Co. MO - Spencer McAfee married 3rd wife Surilda Jane Dunehew on Apr. 21, 1865 and they then are listed in the 1870 Howell Co. MO Census along with their young son John W. McAfee age 1. 1880 Ozark Co. MO - Spencer McAfee and Surilda are then listed along with their many children being in OZark Co. MO. 1900 Boone Co. AR - Spencer McAfee and Surilda are in Bergman, Boone Co. AR and living with them is their son Spencer A. McAfee, Jr. age 27. 1910 Boone Co. AR - Spencer McAfee and Surilda ( spelled as Sarilla ) are then alone in their household and Spencer A. McAfee Sr. had been listed as the postmaster for Bergman as well as being a Justice of Peace, and believe a Minister. 1912 - Spencer Alvin McAfee, Sr. Harrison Times of Dec. 7th, 1912 -Spencer McAfee, aged eighty years and ten months passed from this world to the world beyond on Nov. 14th, 1912. He served in the Civil War, was a minister of of the gospel, a good citizen and loved by all those who knew him. He leaves a wife, three sons and three daughters to mourn his loss.
