Thank you for the information. I know that my 2x great-grandfather, William McAdoo was b.1830-35 in N. Ireland. He immigrated to Philadelphia, PA between 1848 and 1854. Several Wm. McAdoos immigrated during that period. The most likely one immigrated in 1852 from Ramelton, Donegal. U.S. Census records show that in 1860, Wm. and his family lived on the same street as two other McAdoo families (Alexander, b.1783? and Daniel, b.1824); however, I have been unable to make a connection among the three families. Do you know if there are emigration records for that period that might contain county, parish, or townland info?
