It appears from some of the estate records in Abbeville Co., SC that the McAdams had a connection to the Moses Ashley families. My research has focused on the Ashley families
in the Abbeville area, some of whom moved on to NE Alabama and NW Georgia counties by 1850's. I don't know if any of the McAdams families migrated with them.

(filed in Abbeville SC Probate Office, Box 108, Pack 2986), filed under Robinson McAdams - - On Feb. 28, 1831, John Clickscales, Bennet and Charlotte McAdams bound to Moses Taggart, Ordinary of Abbeville Co., SC, the sum of $1000. Charlotte McAdams was made guardian of Robinson McAdams, a minor over age 14 yrs."
