My name is Richard Anthony Ray Rasco descended from:
Lydia Amandy "Lizzie" MCABEE
(b. 17 Jan 1872 in Cherokee, AL; d. 1963 in Memphis, TX)
daughter of:
Barnette Gaines MCABEE
(b. 1822 in Abbeville, SC; d. 21 Mar 1890 in Hunt Co, TX)
son of:
James MCABEE
(b. 1806 in Abbeville, SC; d. circa 1893 in Cherokee, AL)
I have no LEGAL binding proof in my posession for the above information, but I know for a FACT that Lydia Mcabee was married to her first husband John Fredrick Patrick and then later in 30 Apr 1903, to Marion H. Braddock, through whom I'm descended. I even have a picture of Lydia with Marion and her Patrick and Braddock children.
If anyone knows of any family homepages or has any interesting info on this line of the MCABEE, I would be very grateful.
By the way, does anyone know where the name McAbee originated?? Could it have any connection to the hebrew word "Maccabbi" - deriving from the word hammer; striking; hitting; etc??
