I am also a McAbee descendant of the Mendocino County, California McAbees. I have a couple of very lively oral histories that might interest you--by Delcena McAbee Rawles (My gr.grandmother), and by Susan Weaver McAbee (My gr.gr.grandmother). Tales of crossing the plains by covered wagon, gunfights, et cetera. Susan Weaver McAbee was married to John Wesley McAbee. John Wesley McAbee was the older brother of your MaryAnn McAbee. I don't have any more generations for you on the McAbees, but I do have a couple more in the Pitcher/Peacher line. I also have some data on some closely related families: the Rawles, the notorious Gibbins family of Arkansas, the Crows (of Crow's Landing, California, who came out west in the same wagon train as the McAbees, as well as the Shirks. (The famous western cattleman David Lawson Shirk--he and his brother both married Crow family daughters.) I'd appreciate any other data on the McAbees that you might have. Many Thanks in Advance! his x mark James Wesley Rawles <>< e-mail: rawles@usa.net phone: (775) 849-2470 Currently researching: Barnard, Biffle, Bilderback, Birthistle, Creveling, Crow, Fischer, Gray, Hampton, Headley, Henckel, Holloway, Irwine, Kinsella, Lambard, McAbee, Oilar, Pitcher, Rawles/Rawls/Rowles, Sacry/Sacrey, Shirk, Sproule, Taylor, Wallach, & Weaver Notify Administrator about this message?
