Searching for relatives. My grandfather (his name may have been Peter)Mazza came to America sometime before 1905 visiting family & was murdered while here. My grandmother, Maria Carmela Maiolo and her son, Guiseppe (Joseph)Mazza (my father) came to America on the Nord-America that sailed from Napoli May 21, 1905 and arrived the port of NY on June 5, 1905...their destination was to Maria's brother, Cosmo Maiolo in Glady, WV (I know that Cosmo lived in Davis, WV in 1900). Cosmo also, somewhere in WV had a store that was blown up by the Mafia when he refused to pay protection money; he & family later moved to Ohio. Maria had two other children, Rosa & Vincent (I think that was his name) whom she left with family in Italy hoping to one day bring them over too but that never happened. Maria married shortly after arriving here to Larry Loielo. In the 1910 census they were still living in Glady, WV. Her children from the 2nd marriage were Paul Loielo, Cecelia Loielo (D'Andrea), Virginia Loielo (Fichera), Estelle Loielo (Silipo), Nancy Loielo (Dalbo), and Elizabeth(Bessie) Loielo (Phillips). All the family but Bessie & Joseph moved to NY at some point but they remained in WV. Bessie and her family moved to AZ probably in the early 1950's. Joseph & his family moved to FL in 1956. Is any of this familar to anyone? I know that Joseph had a cousin named Betty Lynn (I think her father was Larry Maiolo (changed to Mayola); and a cousin named Ella Matts (changed from Mazza)Kloha but am unsure whether she was from the Maiolo or Mazza side of the family although I believe she was from the Mazza side. I am in touch with some of the Maiolo family (grandson of Cosmo)but have been unable to locate any from the Mazza side of the family. Any information would be appreciated. I believe Maria had a Maiolo cousin named either Bruno or Rocco who was in the shoe business in NY.
