I have been unsuccessful in trying to locate the line of my Maternal Grandmother, Apolonia Mazur Zach, who died in Phiadelphia in 1918.However, in my research in the mid 1970s I stumbled on a book in the Library of Congress titled:It Began with Zade Usher,by Yaffa Drazin. It is over 200 pages long, well written and documented and ties in a major line of Jewish Mazurs in Russia, Poland, and Austrian areas.Unfortunately I could not tie any of the data in the book with my ancestors.I wrote to and received a response from Yaffa Drazen in 1975.I do not know if she is still alive, but I still have her letter with some other names and addresses of researchers that had varying degrees of information about different Mazur family lines. The address she had back then was 753 South mansfield Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036.Suggest you try to obtain the book.I also still have the other researchers' names and addresses she gave me, but have no idea of how current they are.Lastly, I have some photocopies of about 20 pages of the book that pertain to the related Mazur family line(s) covered in her book. The time period of the book is from the 1770s into the early 1900'sHope this is of some help. Good Luck.
