I've been told my family linage runs

Benjamin Mays(VA) > James Virgil Mays(VA/NC) > John Signor Mays(NC) > Wiley Faulkner Mays(AL) > John M. Mays(AL) > Troy V. Mays(AL) > Dick W. Mays(AL) > Nichols Mays

I was told recently that Benjamin Mays was the son of Robert Mays and Elizabeth Bolling. Anyone have any record of this? I know Benjamin and James v. where both from Virginia.
